Puppy Class Dates:
Our next puppy class will be offered on September 13, 15, 20 and 22 at 6 pm Margaret Eckert is the instructor. Click here to contact Margaret after filling out application with any questions.
Puppy school emphasizes play and socialization with other puppies and people. It is critical for young pups to learn to play and communicate with other dogs. We offer a supervised environment for play with other similar pups. Your pup will be gently handled by other members of the class. We begin with basic training techniques, teaching you how to train sits, downs, and recalls, while providing general pet care lectures and answering your questions about puppy training: housebreaking, crate training, mouthing, biting, etc.
Puppy school is $50 for a 4 lesson group class session if payment is received via postal mail before first day of class session. Remember to include your shot records. We check for 2 sets of DPHL and one Kennel Cough (KC or Bordet, Bordetella) vaccination. All vets do not regularly include KC in puppy shots unless asked for. Building is not heated! Class will be held outside on agility field in nice weather.
All classes have an additional $5 handling fee if application and fee received day of class. Two dog discount coming from
the same household is 15% off second dog. Adopted dog from a shelter where
owner pays an adoption fee is also 15% discount of class fee. Only one
discount can be used on a dog.
Some
classes will be taught outside on fenced field during good weather.
Bring sun and/or bug spray if you need it in the summer.
BUILDING IS NOT HEATED. WEAR LOTS OF WARM CLOTHING.
Dog Works is closed when Henderson County Public Schools are closed due to bad weather.
