"Where Pets Become Partners" Hendersonville, NC

Come to our clinics prepaired to learn, work hard, and HAVE FUN!
  • DUE TO MY FARM ANIMALS, NO DOGS OFF LEASH FOR POOPS AND PEES. Do not allow dogs to urinate on my plants. We have lots of natural woods close by. All dogs must be kept on leash when not working a sequence.
  • Ask us about our off leash woods walk on the far side of the property.
  • Do not see if your dog is interested in sheep, the sheep are not interested in your dog. Barn and pastures are off limits.
  • Keep all food out of Possum and Toad's reach. Hang food bags on hooks, do not leave sitting on top of crate. Do not leave your car door's open if food is in reach.
  • If you pack it in, please pack it out. Our garbage service is tough to deal with.
  • Please pick up around your clinic spot, did you leave empties?
  • Of course, pick up after your dog.
  • Do not place empty food containers in poop cans.
  • Place lunch plates in garbage on Dog Works front porch.
  • Motel owners have my phone number. Please be thoughtful guests. We ask that you cover bed with sheet from home and never leave dog unattended.
  1. All people attending clinic, auditors and working members, are expected to set bars and build course. Be supportive to clinic members. Watch runs, learn from others. Praise breakthroughs. It's a requirement.
  2. Bring snacks and drinks. Fridge in pavilion is reserved for instructor. There is a small fridge in the training building.
  3. Clinics start and stop on time. Plan to arrive and set up 30 minutes before start time. (15 minutes to set up crates and walk dogs, 15 minutes to build course). Last day of clinics usually start and stop early to allow for instructor flight home.
  4. We have an open pavilion on our fenced agility with many crates waiting for use. Extra shade tents could be set up, but not necessary. You may leave your things on field overnight, but remember Possum and Toad. Dogs aggressive in crates are asked not to crate in pavilion. We have simple chairs in the pavilion for your use. Large lounge chairs are to be used outside pavilion.
  5. We have a training building with dirt floor that can be used in heavy rain. Flush toilets are in the training building as well as a telephone in the office. You will be expected to deal with light rain on our agility field. Our clinics are small enough for everyone to squeeze into the pavilion during a shower. Auditors' dogs are not to be crated in pavilion. Check the weather forecast for zip code 28790 before leaving home.
  6. Any barking dog, disturbing the clinic, will be asked to crate in the training building. Due to our vacation home rental, those using the barn parking and barn road parking cannot have barking dogs in car. Keep all excess barking in the Dog Works Parking Lot or training building. Of course, some barking is going to happen on the field.
  7. Due to space, second dogs are discouraged from being crated in the pavilion.
  8. People causing background chatter will be asked to chat in the training building.
  9. Ask us about running a second dog. If second dog approved, you are entitled to only one run per sequence.
  10. You snooze, you loose! Running orders are established. You should have your dog out, rewards in hand, while the dog in front is running. If you are not ready on the start line with reward, leash removed, next person will take your run. You loose that sequence. Sorry. All involved in clinic want to run as much as possible. We simply are not going to wait for you to get ready to run.
  11. Auditors are invited to "audit". Auditors can walk courses and train their dogs during breaks. Questions are reserved for working members.
  12. Parking in the field close to agility field is allowed only in dry weather. There is a $50 charge if you get stuck. Drive carefully over last r.r. crossing. Lee will not change flat tires, call AAA.
