Vergil Holland Lessons, July 27, 28, & 29, 2007
Vergil Holland will be coming to Summit View Farm for two and a half days of lessons July 27 - 29. Are ewe interested ? Check the running order pdf at bottom of page to see lesson time options. The times can be altered some, but not the number of lessons available. A waiting list will be kept.

Vergil is well know in the herding world, for his book, his competitive success, knowledge of sheep from years of farming, his sheepdogs, as well as his students successes. There are slots open on Sat. and Sunday, each $70. These slots are normal lesson length, depending on what Vergil thinks is good for your dog. Although this is set up more like lessons and less like a clinic, auditors will be welcome for an audit fee of $40 a day before clinic, $50 day of clinic.

Vergil will have his book and other training material available.

I have a 25 light, workable border leicester wool sheep and 5 dog broke hair sheep. I am borrowing a packet of hair sheep from a local BC man. I have a small, rolling front pasture, (slightly larger than a novice outrun) and is adequate for short outruns, driving, and penning. I do have a small round pen type area for dogs just starting, but it is SLOPED, NOT FLAT. I will trailer sheep to near- by large fields for distance work on Friday afternoon (after 2 p.m.) and Saturday morning. Sunday morning work may reguire crossing a small stream. (Boots or Barefoot)

Directions and Parking at Greencove will be posted Wed. It will be primitive at Greencove, no bathrooms near by, but we will bring in water and tub for dog cooling. Lots of trees. We are guests on this private property. No smoking, pick up after your dog, pack it in, pack it out. Obey speed limits, it is a children's camp. Leave all gates as you find them. Summit View Farm Parking will be at the Dog Works training building, and set up will be in the pasture at the back of agility ring. Crating can be in the agility shed where there are fans and shade. Some shade trees line the set up area at the end of the agility field. A cooling tank will be provided for dogs. Flush toilets are located in the training building. Camping in parking lot, not level, low amp electric hookups, (won't run lots of large air conditioners without tripping fuse). Our boat house will be open to swim dogs at your own risk. We will take lunch orders for subway or something similar . Meals are not included in lesson fees.

The few lesson spots left (See running order pdf) On line clinic form is for record keeping.
