"Where Pets Become Partners" Hendersonville, NC

Dog Works welcomes Joyce Burgess in 2008. We found Joyce in October when she attended the Nancy Gyes agility clinic. Joyce and her husband had just moved to Biltmore from Virginia. What a lucky find for us. We are excited to have her teach our pet and puppy programs. She is kind, patient, and very successful with her dogs.

Joyce Burgess

Joyce Burgess has been training dogs for over 30 years, and training people to train dogs for 10.  She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) whose mission is to promote positive training through example and education.  Joyce is a graduate of Mary Washington College of the U. of VA.  She is retired from 20 years of teaching elementary school, and has turned her “teaching” skills to the canine world.  Joyce is currently training and competing with her two shelties,  GiGi, in agility and obedience, and MACH Rocky in Freestyle.  She lives near Asheville with her husband, Alan, keeshond Molly, and the two above mentioned shelties.  Joyce offers both group and private lessons at Dog Works,  and is experienced with traditional as well as clicker methods of training.
